Several Bankruptcy and District courts have reported intermittently slow system performance for PACER users. These slowdowns are causing longer than usual wait times for external users such as public users, law firms, and commercial vendors. We ask commercial PACER customers who run data scraping scripts to help ease the system slowdown time by moving their large data pulls to between the hours of 6:00 P.M. Central Time and 6:00 A.M. Central Time. Exemption from PACER Fee Increase for Government Users Expires on April 1, 2015 [link]

Date: Feb 1, 2015.   Fetched Jan 27, 2020 18:27:32 UTC.

In September 2011, the Judicial Conference authorized an increase in the Judiciary's electronic public access fee from $.08 to $.10 per page, starting April 1, 2012. The Conference was mindful of the impact such an increase could have on other public entities that budget in advance for resources. For this reason, local, state, and federal government agencies were exempted from the increase for three years. As noted in the EPA Fee Schedule, the exemption expires this year. Therefore, as of April 1, 2015, the PACER usage fee for government accounts will increase from $.08 per page to $0.10 per page.

If you have any questions, please contact the PACER Service Center at pacer@psc.uscourts.gov or (800) 676-6856. The PACER Service Center hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CT.

Automated Case Notification [link]

Date: Feb 21, 2012.   Fetched Jan 27, 2020 18:27:32 UTC.

Until recently, PACER users that wanted to follow a case were tasked with repeatedly visiting the PACER site to check for updates. This has changed with recent versions of CM/ECF. Some courts are now providing automatic case notification through the use of RSS feeds. PACER users can easily stay informed of newly docketed events by subscribing to a court's RSS feed, which is free and includes automatic notification of activity in all cases, summarized text such as the name of the document filed, with links to the document and docket report. Results may be sorted by date or case title. There are many commercially-available RSS readers, which offer the capability of organizing and filtering the results further.

Users must login to PACER to view the document or docket report linked from the RSS feed. To learn which courts have implemented RSS, please visit the court links page. Click on the court's RSS feed icon () to display the feed.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Courts offer the bankruptcy community Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing (EBN). EBN is a free service that allows court notices to be transmitted electronically, delivering them faster and more conveniently. Electronic noticing has the following advantages:

You can receive electronic notices faster. They are sent on the same day they are produced at the court. You can access your court notices 24/7. Court notices that would be mailed to multiple locations can be routed to a centralized address. Storing notices to your computer means you never lose a paper copy. Court notices can easily be forwarded around the office or to your attorney. Click here for more information.
